Tribute to Kimball Bighorse

I have kept him sacred and secret from this blog. But here he is now. I'm blogging about Kimball today. He's my deep as a well, vast as an army, strong as an elephant, quick as a cat, clever as a fox boyfriend and confidant. My thorn and antedote. My worst nightmare, my loftiest dream. My guard. My love.
Once upon a time, on April 4th (?) 2004, I asked Kimball out on a date. He said yes of course. Lindsay and Danny, friends from BYUH were in town visiting and wanted to go up to the city for the night. I needed a date. We had Pier 39 clam chowder, he made warm/small conversation with the lone stranger next to us. He watched me down a huge Ghirardeli sundae. His girl friends kept calling his phone that night, completely baffled as to why he would not pick up. They were catching on. He was out. With me. That's right. Me. Now leave him alone.
I'd seen this man before. When I went to the Harvard Glee Club concert. It was a good concert, alright! Leave me alone! Afterwards, my friend asked me to give him a ride home for whatever reason since she couldn't. i went up to him, "Are you Kimball? Yeah I'm taking you home. Let me know when you want to leave. I see you're drinking 1%. Is that because you think you're fat?" I can't remember the whole conversation home obviously but I remember suggesting to him he should be a potato farmer in Idaho. He responded that there was probably more in the stars for him. Probably true.
It's now almost 2006. We've been through highs and lows, breakups and back-togetherups. They say the ones you love will hurt you the most. I have learned and grown and wronged and righted. We've put ourselves to the test, put this relationship through scrutiny and back and continue to do so and here we are, still. For now. For the here and now. I know him. He knows me. He's my best friend. He's my biggest risk. He's worth it 100 times over.

If that isnt just the sweetest thing EVER! I was wondering if you were still dating the Bighorse guy. I recall you mentioning him when I last spoke to you over a year ago. (I'm such a good friend, I wait until all contact info has become obsolete and then use my best investigative and stalker skills to establish contact.)

PS..I asked a guy out for the first time ever this month. Be proud, be very proud.
