Pets and the Rise of Delusional Expectations for Interpersonal Relationships

Photo

A massive pet food manufacturer has recently recalled lots of pet food. Turns out, chemicals used to make plastics leaked into the pet food ingredients at the factory. ???
It's a sad thing. There were some doggies who died because of this.
Many pet owners around the nation are not taking any chances on store bought dog food. So they're making their own, or buying the "organic" stuff. But that's creating a real scare because it's apparently not good to make your own dog food as dogs might not get the correct balance of essential nutrients. Additionally, pet owners are quoted in papers as saying, "I can't lose my dogs. They are my family." Now I can understand the familial aspects of having a pet. I am very fond of animals and value them as co-creatures in our animal kingdom. But there is a line. And aside from this pet food fiasco reaction, have you been to pet stores? Have you been to my neighbors house? They are pet smothering and spoiling meccas. Whatever happened to scratch Fido's ears, feed him some lard and let him chase the rooster around until he falls asleep?

I propose that with more and more divorces, hermitosis, halitosis, sexism, fakeness, workaholism, and family dysfunction in society, so triggers the disconnection from people to other people interpersonally. So triggers the fallacious and delusional expectation of people, by people and for people to be what dogs are- easy and controllable. We see a budding co-dependency and excessiveness of people with regard to innocent animals, or their pets. Pets don't talk back, don't cause any serious problems or confrontations for people- aside from defecating on one's couch.. but even so, Rover is just being Rover! At least he didn't call YOU the bitch, question your opinion or spend your life savings on another woman he's having an affair with. Poop away little canine!
